We woke up to the sun already coming up quickly over the horizon, so after walking Sheila first thing in the morning, we started to make breakfast and Lisette (given the earlier hour) was able to roll out her yoga mat and do some stretching. She hasn't done any yoga since mid December, and she definitely missed the regular practice, particularly after getting her Yoga Teacher Training certification at the end of last year! Sheila also decided to join in, sitting at the top of the mat and not even budging or batting an eyelid when Lisette put her head on her torso while getting into bow pose!

Uh Oh, Did we just break something?
The check out time at the RV park was 11am, but Michael soon realized as we were packing up that one of the legs on our self-leveling system was not retracting. After much troubleshooting, and calling the manufacturer, we had no choice but to call a mobile RV repairman to come and see if they could fix the problem. Fortunately we weren’t too remote (Red Rock Canyon is not too far from Las Vegas), so someone was able to come in 30 minutes.

While he was able to manually get the leg back up, unfortunately it was irreparable, which means that we are now set back over $2,000 to replace and reinstall it! Michael decided that we’d wait before going forward with the repair, so we’ll have to try and stay at places where we can avoid using the system.

Setting up camp just outside of Death Valley
We eventually left the campsite after 1.30pm, and drove for a couple of hours toward Death Valley, where we pulled up on the outskirts of it, and parked for the night in an abandoned RV park called the Pads. It still had all the concrete slabs for RVs to use, which was obviously helpful given our self-leveling system woes.

Unfortunately we realized that we were getting too full with our grey and black water tanks… Michael mentioned that we needed to dump by two-thirds and it already was at this level, which freaked Lisette out and led to an argument before bed. I guess these experiences are meant to test as a couple, and arguments can be bound to happen on such a trip as this!
